Trains
Wife perspective; the weather for day one was rather ideal for running, NW wind and a good amount of cloud cover, for the biker, my legs got a good work out biking against the wind to meet up with the runner.
Of course chicken noodle soup was the first meal eaten in the RV. Hey. Why mess with what works. But I do need to figure out a better scheduling for our daily lives; i’m thinking lunch has to be the big meal of the day because then I’ve got time to cook, after the last run of the day it’s too late to be messing with cooking.
We said see ya later to Portage, Oakville and Elie... except we back tracked to sleep in the little town of Elie. I don’t know how the folks here sleep! The tracks run right through town and the train industry is brisk. Sleep did occur between train passings, but a full night of slumber did NOT occur.
Pretty sure the pop can industry could find their needed amount of aluminum if they do a cleanathon of the ditches along the T-Can. All the garbage is hard to notice when you travel over 100km/hr but when you are going 7mile/hr you can see a lot of stuff hidden by the manitoba summertime nature layer.

Fun little fact. As we were driving to the Portage sign to start running; we were passed by a coworker who is off West to do a motorcycle trip with his honey. Those little moments, you don’t feel as alone out here on the T-Can. I needed a little smile, a reminder that that my right hand is being held by HIM.
