Running For A Cure?

Got a real boost this afternoon when my youngest brother Jared and his son Emmett drove out to meet us in MacGregor! Thanks Jared for the laughs! Also had friends from Steinbach stop in on their journey west .

This evening we went out running 6+ miles and Jared surprised me by lacing up the runners for the first 4! Jared and I have run so many races against each other over the years and it was a jolt of energy to run side by side again.

The wife Perspective; sitting at a splash pad all day is nice (hint, hint). It was lovely to hang out with family and friends on this hot summer day. I’d received an email from friends; asking where we were. Turns out they were heading to Kola so they’d be driving right by; I didn’t tell Shannon. Family had already arrived and we were enjoying time at the splash pad, when Shannon made a comment more visitors arrived as he saw a motor home pull in to the lot. With his comment I thought he knew who was driving the motor home, obviously not, as I went to welcome them to the MacGregor campground and walked them over to where Shannon was relaxing in the shade with family, he was shocked. I know the Mr loves me but seeing other people is just such a nice treat (we’ve been living in this RV, 31’ for 7 days).
During our time at the splash pad our nephew made a friend, so obviously I started chatting with the child’s mom. Eventually the question of; so where are you from came up and I explained why we happened to be in MacGregor. She off handedly made a comment about seeing something on the Portage site about a guy running the T-Can. I was like WHAT. So she starts a hunt and pulls up a community Facebook page where they are talking about Shannon. So funny!!
