A Hot Start

It’s one o’clock and time for an extended rest. We’ve got about 26 miles behind us already for the day. The one thing I keep telling myself is that it’s not a race...all I need to do is finish. Today that has meant walking a few miles. It’s hot out on the highway but thank goodness it’s not humid! And, no bugs out here in western Manitoba.

The wife Perspective; Fleetwood (our house on wheels) and I are getting to know each other, and so far so good. I mean it literally feels like I’m trying to turn a house around when I do a 700 point turn on a side road to be facing the correct direction when  I’m parking to start my biking back to meet up with Shannon. So far I’ve only had to carry my bike 4 times and that’s when I needed to navigate a bridge that was barricaded because it was damaged years ago in a flood (I understand floods happen); so I had to carry my bike over the cement barricades. You know. Normal things one would encounter when doing a big run across MB.
